Official music video for "Love In the Time of Corona" by Nalimu, from his second EP No Ni Ná.
It was the end of March 2020 when Henry Leasia (aka Nalimu), my young co-worker from the ice cream shop days, dropped “Love In the Time of Corona”. Strong in the early pandemic feels, his song hit me right in the heart and was catchy AF to boot. Knowing my tiny family unit had the right blend of special ingredients to help make it happen, I asked the Alaska-based musician to let me create a music video for his pretty ditty.
Shot in April 2020 over six sunny afternoons in Portland, mostly in our SE Lents neighborhood. Cinematography by my husband Ben Bach, and featuring our son Forrest.
Nalimu describes his music as earnest and emotional, minimal but captivating, soulful but subdued. “Love In the Time of Corona” taps into these sensibilities and rides the bittersweet groove.
